Barford Park Barn is a small family run dry hire venue outside Downton on the edge of the New Forest.
The 17th century barn and sits in 300 acres of grassland farm overlooking the Avon Valley.
Everything about Barford Park is charming, from the rustic barn to the walled garden where you can pick your own flowers to decorate the barn from Spring to Autumn, which along with being more personal will also save costs on sourcing imported flowers.
There is on-site accommodation in a collection of beautiful cottages within the Trafalgar Walled Garden. Everything is here to curate your perfect wedding experience exactly the way you want it.
Emily and Ben booked us for their wedding at Barford Park 2 years before their date on the recommendation of someone who knew of our work.
In their initial email they mentioned they had a particular theme for their wedding so wondered if it was possible to play certain music before heading into a more generalised playlist later in the evening.
As a team we always embrace our clients tastes so were not deterred by this.
During our online consultation our couple revealed they wanted the first part of their reception to be more like a barn-dance.
They were considering a band as well, but after being unable to find one they felt comfortable with decided to trust us completely with the theme at the start of the evening and a more mainstream party afterwards.
Curate Your Party Playlist
In the months leading up to their wedding Ben and Emily curated a playlist of music they wanted to hear and also avoid using our custom made client platform which presents an ever evolving list of the most popular music from all our events.
Country obviously featured heavily in their guidance with new tracks from Beyonce and Luke Combs alongside classics by Alan Jackson, Glen Campbell and The Mavericks.
This was all mixed in with Pop Punk from Avril Lavigne, reggaetón from Daddy Yankee and party classics from Abba and Anastacia later in in the night.
Our couple took to the floor for a first dance to a Disney classic from The Lion King.
They chose “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” performed by Joseph Williams.
Afterwards the bride and her squad took to the floor for a choreographed routine before the more general barn dance they hoped for began.
We then transitioned into a more mainstream party set which kept the dance floor full and fun for their rest of the night.
