It’s been a really positive week for me in all aspects of work with lots of positive feedback.
I did my first wedding of the year last weekend at the Hilton Chilworth and it felt a long time coming as Anna and Rob booked me for it over 12 months ago.
I woke up this morning to find they had interrupted their honeymoon to email a note of thanks :
This was a welcome end to a week which saw us celebrating a record audience at Wave 105, the radio station where I’ve hosted the afternoon show for almost 10 years.
In the latest quarterly figures I’ve achieved a record 17.8% share of all radio listening in the area, which is 3 times more than Radio 1 and larger than the other 5 main commercial competitors.
Just Radio 2 to beat now!
The way the way they calculate radio audiences is interesting and smart people watch trends rather than individual quarters but when you spend your day in a room talking to yourself it’s always nice to know people are listening.
I’ve managed to squeeze in a couple of bookings for parties at The Port House and Three Choirs Wickham for this summer and replied to a lot of quotes for summer 2018 including a private garden party in The New Forest.
The latter was rather flattering as I was the first supplier they contacted for a quote and they haven’t actually booked the church yet!
It gave me the opportunity to recommend a few other quality suppliers for things like catering, photography, marquee hire and stationers which the bride really appreciated.
Looking at the wedding facebook groups there are lots of couples marrying this summer who have left the DJ at the bottom on the list for suppliers to book.
Your wedding entertainment will be one of the lasting memories your guests have of your big day so why would you risk leaving it to the last minute to book? Especially as most only charge a small fee to reserve your date.
If you would like to talk to me about providing a DJ for your party please get in touch here.
