There are indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces with ample space for dining and partying in the rustic beamed Threshing Barn.
Or you can sit outside in the Collecting Yard toasting marshmallows and enjoying the company of friends into the evening.
Maria and Rob reached out to us a year before there special day at Southend Barns.
Because it was a weekday we still have availability.
They were aware of our work from a friends recent wedding and keen to make sure they would have contract with the DJ who was representing on the night.
Because we only use members of our handpicked team this was an easy promise to make.

During the planning we kept in regular touch with Maria and Rob and we know they really embraced personalising their music with our “dating app” style music platform.
On the day they were blessed with a hot sunny summer day and when we arrived guests were already outside in the collecting yard enjoying drinks and playing garden games.
We set up swiftly and touched base with the musician performing the first dance so we had the title and artist of the track they had chosen.

“We chose Hampshire Event DJs because they’d also provided the music for our friends’ wedding a few years ago and they did not disappoint for our wedding this year!
From the initial consultation, a video call where we were able to discuss our ideas for the evening and what we wanted to avoid.
Simon was so helpful and very enthusiastic, which made us excited to get on with it.
The portal to provide our likes and dislikes was amazing.
We made an evening of it with a couple of drinks, listening to short clips of songs and having an instant reaction.
We got somewhat carried away and kept going for a couple of hours, ending with a list of songs that we really loved that gave Simon an idea of the vibe we were going for – and a clear list of songs we absolutely did not want to hear.
Simon checked in throughout and was quick to answer any questions, which was very much appreciated.
Then it came to the big day – Simon arrived and in all honesty, we didn’t notice the set up as we were so busy talking to friends and family.
He came to check in with us quickly which was a reassurance.
We had a live musician playing our first dance, and as the final notes rang out and everyone was clapping, Simon pulled out an absolute banger for the first ‘party’ song.
It probably wasn’t one we’d have thought to pick ourselves, but it was absolutely perfect and everyone remembers the atmosphere for start of the DJ set now.
Simon had prepared us that there would likely be a lull in dancing after the first 20 minutes or so, as it was still light outside and a very hot day – so we weren’t at all surprised when this is exactly what happened.
It actually worked really well as we snuck off to have some golden hour photos at the same time.
Even though there was a lull – which we all expected on this sunny day, we don’t think the dance floor was ever empty, and once the energy was back up and we hit the floor again – it then didn’t stop.
Song after song, every single one hit exactly what was needed.
We didn’t leave the dance floor after that until the night ended, and it was packed – it was exactly what we were hoping for as we both love a dance.
It was a perfect mix of songs that we’d ‘loved’ on the portal, but also some others that were absolutely spot on for the mood.
Then it came to our last song, which we’d specifically requested – we’ve never found ‘Mr Brightside’ quite so emotional before, but being surrounded by all of our favourite people, with the best energy and people absolutely going for it, was such a core memory that we’ll never forget.
And then, to top it all off in an unexpected move – Simon played the original version of our first dance song which the musician had performed earlier.
This was such a beautiful moment and ended the night on such a high.
All in all, we honestly can’t thank Hampshire Event DJs enough – they were everything we were hoping for.
We’d absolutely recommend them to anyone else looking for a joyous, fun filled, energetic evening reception.”
