Tournerbury Woods is a wedding and event space on Hayling Island.
It’s the only ancient semi-natural woodland and seaside wedding venue in England.
The 300 acre site provides total privacy for your event.
It’s family owner and they are committed to conserving the wildlife and natural environment.
Tournerbury has 2 outdoor locations for licensed ceremonies with couples choosing between the Victorian gazebo or covered decking.
It’s a creative photographers dream with woodlands, fields and the outstanding beauty of Chichester harbour which changes on the tide.
Childhood sweethearts Mark and Alison booked us for their wedding at Tournerbury Woods on the recommendation of a family friend.
A quick online consultation gave confidence we were the perfect choice.
Neither they nor we could have imagined quite how lively their Wednesday wedding reception would be!
Music was really important to them and they embraced our client platform to give guidance on how they wanted the evening to sound.
Swiping through the popular music made it really easy to identify songs they wanted and highlight any they were keen to avoid.
When the day arrived Mark and Alison chose the sheltered, shady option for their ceremony.
As guests took their seats we set the tone with a background playlist from a discreet location at the rear, with a clear line of sight for the cottage so we could introduce the entrance music for the bridal party when they were ready.
Everything flowed seamlessly with ceremony and exit music delivered on cue.
While everyone enjoyed post-ceremony drinks in the sunshine to a pre-produced summer R’&B playlist, we set up our equipment inside for the party later.
Tournerbury has a sound system installed for the dancefloor and a balanced speaker system around the marquee for a wedding breakfast playlist and microphone for the speeches.
As everyone took their seats we plugged in for a more softer sentimental playlist dinner playlist.

After the speeches and a chance for guests to stretch their legs we launched into the final formalities, starting with a first dance to a popular track by Ryan Mack.
Alison and her dad then officially opened the dancefloor with a father/daughter dance to Mustang Sally where everyone was invited to join halfway through.
This was the launchpad for a party packed full of 90s and 00s curated by our couple using our client platform.
The floor was full all evening with Leanne the venue and events manager commenting the dance floor “looked more like a Saturday than a Wednesday”.
We ended replaying their ceremony exit music by Chris Brown which neatly brought the day back around to the couple.
