The stunning stone and timber barns and buildings at Upwaltham Barns really are a wonderful location to get married.
One thing which stands out at Upwaltham is the space.
Both barns comfortably provide for 150 people and the Stable bar has ample space. We love the cosy Moroccan snug in the courtyard where friends take a break and chat away from the reception.
As you would expect from venue set in the South Downs, the views and scenery are superb.
Our first visit was at the end of May 2019 to party with Fiona and Ross.
A Lively Night
The booking came from Ross’s mum Diane and the first time we had contact with the couple was on the day itself.
They emailed a few songs suggestions and their first dance via Diane a few weeks before the big day.
This is not unusual as many of our bookings are referrals.
Despite the lack of background information there was a lot we could surmise when we arrived.
Several tables of female guests without partners and a half term Friday led us to believe our couple were teachers.
We knew it was going to be a lively night!
Plus Alisa Roberts was behind the camera and she always gets in on the the dance floor action.
Make The Most Of The Music
The venue looked stunning and our uplighting picked out the detail on the stone walls of the south barn.
Nicola from Upwaltham was very complimentary of our modern set up and our ability to create a busy dance floor.
Guests were dancing well in advance of the couple taking to the floor for their first dance.
At the end of the night it was great to see so many decided to stay and make the most of the music. We packed away under the starlit South Downs sky contented we had done Fiona and Ross proud.
A few weeks later an email dropped in from the new Mrs Phippen.
